Ivo Tchernev
Lawyer
Ivo focuses his work on the firm’s most complex personal injury cases. These range from serious trucking accidents to multi-party construction injury cases. In addition, he frequently represents the firm’s corporate clients in Federal and State courts.
Ivo also serves as outside general counsel for freight carriers and freight brokers, advising them as to contractual matters and internal issues. He handles litigation claims associated with commercial contracts, employee relations, and cargo claims.
Ivo handles the firm’s appellate work. He has authored several winning appellate briefs, including Zlatev v. Millette, 2015 IL App (1st) 143173. There the First District Appellate Court affirmed the addition of a new defendant after the statute of limitation had expired, based on a theory of mistaken identity.
Ivo knows first hand the difficulties most Bulgarians face when dealing with legal situations, being himself a first generation immigrant. He is active in the local Bulgarian community and has authored many articles to educate the community in Chicago about their legal rights.
Ivo graduated from Georgetown University in 2004, prior to receiving his Juris Doctorate from Chicago Kent-College of Law, in 2010. Ivo has been a member of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association and the Illinois State Bar Association for more than ten years. He is also a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum. Ivo was named to the National Trial Lawyers Top 100 for Personal Injury in 2026.

Steven Jacobson

Steven is responsible for the firm’s personal injury cases and has taken over seventy personal injury cases to trial in his career. He relishes the challenge and opportunity of representing clients at trial. His meticulous preparation and passionate style have led to many outstanding verdicts for the firm’s clients.
In recognition of the great results obtained on behalf of our clients, Steven has been nationally recognized for his outstanding trial work. He was voted as one of the Top 100 National Trial Lawyers for Personal Injury in 2020. In 2021, the National Association of Distinguished Counsel selected him as part of the National Top 1 Percent of trial attorneys.
Steven graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2006 with highest honors and earned his Juris Doctorate from Chicago Kent-College of Law in 2010. Steven enjoys spending his free time with his wife, two children, and the family dog.
